Produced by Andrew, 'Oversimplification' Finds Distribution with Variance

Variance Films has acquired all North American theatrical rights to Terence Nance's romancer "An Oversimplification of Her Beauty," a year after its debut at Sundance.

Variance will release the film in the U.S. and Canada on April 12. Cinema Guild will release the film on DVD and digital platforms in late summer.

"Beauty" is a Media MVMT production and was produced by Nance, Andrew D Corkin and James Bartlett. Exec producers include Jay-Z, Wyatt Cenac, Dream Hampton, and Joy Bryant. It was an official selection of the Rotterdam, Santa Barbara, San Francisco International, Los Angeles, and Traverse City festivals and won the Gotham Award for "Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You."
